Join us on this special tour to celebrate Copenhagen Gay Pride Week, as we take a fascinating journey through the history of LGBTI rights in Denmark, one of the most progressive nations in the world!
Denmark has been on the forefront of LGBTI rights, and Copenhagen has frequently been cited as one of the most gay-friendly cities in the world. From one of the world’s first gay bars in 1917, to the legalization of same-sex sexual activity in 1933, before becoming the first country in the world to recognize same-sex legal partnerships in 1989, it’s no wonder that Copenhagen Gay Pride Week is one of the world’s biggest pride events!
On this 2.5-hour tour, we’ll take you off the beaten path, to some of the areas of Copenhagen where this inspiring history took place. From the house of Lili Elbe, or “the Danish Girl”, after whom the famous film was made, to the 101-year-old gay bar, from the home of the LGBTQ scene (Studiestræde), to the Rainbow Square, experience the Copenhagen that all people, no matter their sexual orientation, come from around the world to celebrate.
