new york midtown walking tour

Welcome to New York City!

Yoann Rousset

The city which provides travelers with hundreds of neighborhoods and communities to explore. No matter what you choose to do, you will have no trouble filling your days in New York City with the cultural offers of this amazing city. A trip through five boroughs is the experience of a lifetime – a chance to enjoy the thrills of America’s most populous and diverse city, see the skyline up close and be part of the liveliest place in the world. And there’s nothing like visiting the city during Fall, when you can catch special events like the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, during which giant balloons float past Midtown’s skyscrapers; and the TCS New York City Marathon, when runners race 26,2 miles across all five boroughs.

The Bronx

The northernmost borough offers a diverse slate of crowd pleasing attraction. Take advantage of mid-fall temperatures by fishing in City Island, canoeing on the Bronx River or hiking through the woods of Pelham Bay Park. Visit new draws like Trump Golf Links, and the High Bridge; a 19th-century aqueduct which beholds a spectacular promenade. Kids can go wild at the Bronx Zoo or express their inner artist at the New York Botanical Garden’s Frida Kahlo exhibition.

Brooklyn

Everyone knows Brooklyn is the place to find the next big thing. It is also big, period. With more than 2.6 million residents, it has the largest population of any borough and would be America’s fourth-biggest city if it stood on its own. So it should come as no surprise that its neighborhoods are bursting with character: there are Russian delicacies in Brighton Beach, strollers rolling down sidewalks in Park Slope, and up-and-coming musicians in vintage T-shirts tucking into late-night pizzas in Williamsburg, just to name a few. No matter where you are from, you will find somewhere in Brooklyn to feel right at home.

Manhattan

Breath-taking views from Top of the Rock, the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center. TV broadcasts from Rockefeller Center and spectacular stage shows on Broadway. The bustle of Times Square, the tranquillity of Central Park and the High Line. Famous settings of novels and films. With fine dining from celebrity chefs, electric nightlife options, such as jazz in Harlem or rock and roll in the East Village and the Museum Mile, there is something in the borough to satisfy every passion. Discover it with our Midtown Tour.

Queens

You could easily spend an entire week exploring the cuisines you did not even realize existed. A few of the better-known suggestions: richly layered moussaka in Astoria, tender Shanghai soup dumplings in flushing and flaky empanadas in Jackson Heights. Queens is also bursting with parks and green space, perfect for watching autumn leaves change color. Long Island City’s Socrates Sculpture Park is one popular spot to picnic or just gaze at the Manhattan skyline across the river. Flushing Meadows Corona Park has plenty of room to play games and make art.

Staten Island

Staten Island is a breezy Fall getaway, and one of the best things about visiting is the ride there. Board the ferry at the Whitehall Terminal in Lower Manhattan; it is one of the most scenic ways to see the Statue of Liberty and the Lower Manhattan skyline. Oh, and it is free! Enjoy performing arts at the glided St. George Theatre and explore science and history at the Staten Island Museum. Or step into the colonial era with a visit to Historic Richmond Town, which boasts more than 30 restored buildings, seasonal pumpkin picking and a traditional butter churn.
