Amsterdam is a very walkable city, you can discover this remarkable city and hit all the main attractions on foot. That hasn’t stopped the city from having a great public transport system either - buses and metro will take you everywhere. A single ticket costs €2.90 and day pass costs €7.50. Don’t forget to tap in and out with your ticket on each journey.
Amsterdam’s public transport system is operated by a different company than the national train system, so if you plan on visiting other Dutch cities, it is more useful to purchase an OV Chipkaart. This top-up as you go transport card costs about €8 and is sold at train stations.
Schiphol Airport the main international airport of the Netherlands and is easily connected to the city center by trains that run every 15 minutes. The ride will take about 20 minutes and cost around €4.50.
