Amsterdam and its canals
There’s a lot to be seen from the Amsterdam canals. Keep your cameras at the ready as we sail through the famous Seven Bridges, past some incredible houseboats, and under the Vaz Diaz bridge, with its poem underneath.
You'll hear about what it’s like to live on the houseboats, what the rules are when it comes to all those drawbridges, and how as much as 17% of Holland’s land is man-made!
Other major sites, like the Hermitage Museum, Science Museum and Stopera are also featured on our Amsterdam canal cruise.
A relaxing experience on board a small open boat
While we'll cover the boats in the event of rain, on clear days the boat is completely open, which makes for a much closer experience to the sites, and infinitely better pictures.
The boats are small (maximum 35 people), so you’ll be able to hear your real-life guide, without the need for an audio guide or microphone. Plus, we'll give you a beer, wine or soft drink to enjoy while you're on board!
While we do have blankets on board, please remember to dress warmly on cold days, and to bring sunblock, sunglasses and sun hats on hot ones.

As of January 1st 2020, participants on all tours and activities (no matter which provider) in Amsterdam have been subject to a €1.50 "entertainment tax". This additional cost is already included in the price of your tour. Please note that this tax is not retained by SANDEMANs, nor by the freelance guides leading your tour, but is a compulsory, additional tax that is passed on directly to the Amsterdam municipality.
