Hipster havens and the Lakes
Outside of the center and away from the mainstream attractions you’ll find a very different Copenhagen. Cruise through the bohemian neighborhood of Cristianhavn and the meatpacking district of Kødbyen that are filled with a hipster’s dream of trendy cafes, bars and shops. From there we will take in the scenery along The Lakes of Copenhagen. This is where Copenhageners come to relax, jog and take a break from the city. I want to recommend the Bike Tour and its guide, Laura Cruz. It is really interesting. You can enjoy the ride in a city that is well-designed for bikes (420 km of bike lane) and see Christiania from a totally different angle rather than the usual sight of the main street. You will also see the Opera House, Nyhavn, the Little Mermaid and the Lakes' area. It's a beautiful ride and Laura Cruz is a wonderful and kind guide that will explain you everything in detail and answer all your questions.
I highly recommend the SANDEMANs New Copenhagen Free Walking Tour as well as their other offerings such as the Bike Tour. It is so appropriate in a town like Copenhagen and you're able to see so much more of the city and surroundings. Great value... great tours!
I did the Bike Tour in Copenhagen with Felix. The tour takes 3 hours, really relaxing and you enjoy nature and discover places that are not in the "classic" tour. Our guide was Danish, he was very kind and dedicated to his job and answered all the questions. I loved the tour and the guide was perfect. I strongly recommend it!
We really enjoyed the 3 tours we did... it meant we saw a lot of the city in the short time we had. It made us want to stay longer! We did the Free Tour with Salka who was funny and informative and it gave us a brief overview of the city. Based on that we decided to do the cycle tour and our guide was René; we had really wanted to cycle around Copenhagen but were unsure of the rules of the road... he was very patient and a great guide!
We've done a few SANDEMANs tours across Europe but Felix's walking tour in Copenhagen really stands out! We also did their bike tour with him which is great! He's super patient, and we found it the only real way to see Copenhagen and to get out of the city center. Highly recommend!
