From royalty to suffragettes to physicians, there is no doubt that women have transformed Portugal into the country it is today. Join us as we explore some of the memorials, locations and statues around Lisbon that commemorate these great women.
Our special International Women’s Day Tour celebrates the female heroes who have shaped our history!
Be moved by the powerful poetry of Alcipe, who honed her skills while being imprisoned for 19 years. Listen to the dramatic life of Inês de Castro, who stole the king's heart. Be amused at how Carolina Beatriz Ângelo cleverly found a loophole in the law and became the first woman to vote in Portugal.
