Visit all the main attractions of these two striking cities on foot, including UNESCO-listed sites such as the Old Town of Ávila with its Extra-Muros Churches and the impressive Alcázar of Segovia. This convenient 8-hour tour also includes the option of enjoying a traditional lunch in Segovia.

Meet your guide in central Madrid

Go to the Julià Travel office in central Madrid (C. de San Nicolás, 15) to check in for your tour 15 minutes before departure. Leave Madrid at 8.30am and travel towards the city of Avila on an air-conditioned coach. 

Visit the Old Town of Ávila and the medieval city walls

The first stop of this easy excursion from Madrid will be at the historic city of Avila. Follow your guide on a walking tour of the Old Town, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and see its most important landmarks, including its Romanesque churches, Gothic palaces and 12th-century Gothic cathedral whilst learning about their incredible history. 

Then visit Avila’s principal historic feature: the intact medieval Walls of Avila (entrance included in the price). Walk back in time as you marvel at these impressive fortifications and towers which are the most complete in Spain. After your walking tour, enjoy some free time to explore other areas of the town on your own and meet your guide again at the designated time and place to continue the tour to Segovia.

Enjoy a traditional lunch (optional) and explore the most important sights in Segovia

If you book the option with lunch, you’ll enjoy a delicious traditional meal once in Segovia which includes: beans from La Granja (starter), roast suckling pig (main), Segovian ponche cake with ice cream (dessert) and drinks (water, wine and coffee). The estimated time for the meal is approximately one hour.

If you book the option without lunch, you’ll have an hour and a half of free time to eat and see the town and its famous Aqueduct at your own leisure. 

After the lunch break, you’ll resume your guided tour in front of the Cathedral and you’ll admire its impressive exterior. You’ll continue the tour strolling along the old Jewish quarter of the city until you reach the UNESCO-listed Alcázar of Segovia. Enjoy a guided visit of this unmissable castle (entrance included in the price) and explore its different rooms, secrets and history.

After your guided tour of the Alcázar, you’ll return to the meeting point in central Madrid between 4.30 and 5pm.
